On July 27, 2010, Huntington Coach Corporation and Hendrickson Bus Corporation earned the National School Transportation Association’s (NSTA) Gold Level Green School Bus Fleet Certification. This certification recognizes the companies for their commitment to improving the environment through cleaner school bus fleets and company-wide practices to reduce engine exhaust emissions and conserve fuel.
The NSTA Green Fleet Certification Program has been reviewed and endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA), Clean School Bus USA Program. This is the only green fleet certification program endorsed by the EPA that is available in the school bus industry. The program recognizes qualifying NSTA members for their effort in working toward a cleaner environment through the use of available EPA/CARB verified technologies as well as new bus technology. The Gold Level award is the highest honor attainable in the program. The Companies have since recertified.
